Product Installation, Safety & Use Policy

WhiskerWay™ products include wall-mounted and surface-mounted cat furniture. Safe use depends on correct installation, a suitable mounting surface, proper maintenance, and responsible supervision.

Installation Responsibility

Customers are responsible for:

  • Reading and following all product instructions before installation or use.
  • Checking that the chosen wall, desk, table, or other surface is structurally suitable.
  • Using appropriate fixings, tools, and installation methods for the chosen surface.
  • Ensuring every component, bracket, clamp, screw, and fixing is firmly secured.
  • Confirming that the product sits level, stable, and free from movement before allowing a cat to use it.
  • Seeking professional installation where they are uncertain about surface suitability or correct mounting.

WhiskerWay™ does not undertake or supervise customer installation unless separately agreed in writing.

Before First Use

Before allowing your cat to use any product:

  • Check that all parts are present and undamaged.
  • Confirm that all fixings and clamps are fully tightened.
  • Apply gentle pressure to check for movement, rotation, wobbling, or loosening.
  • Make sure the product is positioned safely away from hazards.
  • Do not use the product if any component appears damaged, unstable, incomplete, or incorrectly fitted.

Ongoing Safety Checks

Mounted and clamped products must be inspected regularly.

Customers should check for:

  • Loose screws, clamps, brackets, or fixings.
  • Movement, wobbling, rotation, or separation from the mounting surface.
  • Cracks, bending, wear, fraying, or damage.
  • Changes to the wall, desk, table, or mounting surface.
  • Damage caused by repeated jumping, scratching, climbing, or everyday use.

Stop using the product immediately if any movement, damage, or instability is found.

Weight, Fit & Intended Use

Customers must follow all product-specific guidance relating to weight, dimensions, compatibility, placement, and intended use.

Products must not be:

  • Loaded beyond their stated limits.
  • Used on unsuitable or weakened surfaces.
  • Modified, drilled, cut, extended, or altered.
  • Installed using substituted or missing components.
  • Used for purposes other than those described on the relevant product page or instructions.

Pet Supervision

Every cat behaves differently. Customers are responsible for monitoring how their cat approaches, climbs onto, jumps from, rests on, and interacts with the product.

Supervise initial use and discontinue use if the product or placement appears unsuitable for the cat’s size, mobility, behaviour, or activity level.

Damage, Injury & Improper Use

WhiskerWay™ is not responsible for injury, loss, property damage, product failure, or other harm resulting from:

  • Incorrect or incomplete installation.
  • An unsuitable wall, desk, table, or mounting surface.
  • Use of inappropriate fixings or tools.
  • Failure to follow product instructions.
  • Failure to perform regular safety checks.
  • Loose, damaged, worn, or missing components.
  • Product modification or unauthorised repairs.
  • Exceeding a stated product limit.
  • Continued use after movement, wear, damage, or instability becomes apparent.
  • Installation or work performed by a customer or third party.

Damaged or Missing Components

Do not install or use a product that arrives damaged, incomplete, or with missing hardware.

Contact WhiskerWay™ before use and provide:

  • Your order number.
  • A description of the issue.
  • Clear photographs of the product, packaging, and affected components.

Acceptance of Responsibility

By installing or using a WhiskerWay™ product, the customer confirms that they have:

  • Read the relevant instructions and product information.
  • Checked the suitability of the installation surface.
  • Installed and secured the product correctly.
  • Accepted responsibility for ongoing inspection and safe use.
