Product Installation, Safety & Use Policy

The WhiskerWay™ Cat Desk Bed is a clamp-on cat bed designed for use on a stable, compatible desk, table, or other suitable surface. Safe use depends on correct installation, a suitable mounting surface, proper maintenance, and responsible supervision.

Before installing or using the Cat Desk Bed, customers are advised to review the WhiskerWay™ Cat Desk Bed Assembly Guide, which provides helpful guidance on setup, securing the product, and preparing it for use.

Installation Responsibility

Customers are responsible for:

• Checking that the chosen desk, table, or other mounting surface is stable, compatible, and suitable for clamping.
• Ensuring the clamp has sufficient room to attach securely to the chosen surface.
• Ensuring the clamp and all product hardware are firmly secured before use.
• Confirming that the Cat Desk Bed sits stable and free from movement before allowing a cat to use it.
• Never installing the Cat Desk Bed on glass surfaces. The concentrated pressure created by the clamp may damage, crack, or shatter the glass.
• Seeking appropriate assistance if they are uncertain about surface suitability or correct installation.

WhiskerWay™ does not undertake or supervise customer installation.

Before First Use

Before allowing your cat to use the Cat Desk Bed:

• Check that all parts are present and undamaged.
• Confirm that the Cat Desk Bed has been correctly assembled and installed.
• Confirm that the clamp and all hardware are fully tightened and securely fitted.
• Apply gentle pressure to check for movement, rotation, wobbling, or loosening.
• Confirm that the mounting surface remains stable under the installed Cat Desk Bed.
• Make sure the Cat Desk Bed is positioned safely away from hazards.
• Do not use the product if any component appears damaged, unstable, incomplete, loose, or incorrectly fitted.
• Do not install or use the Cat Desk Bed on glass.

Ongoing Safety Checks

The Cat Desk Bed and its mounting surface should be inspected regularly.

Customers should check for:

• A loose clamp, screws, fittings, or hardware.
• Movement, wobbling, rotation, or separation from the mounting surface.
• Cracks, bending, wear, fraying, or other visible damage.
• Changes or damage to the desk, table, or other mounting surface.
• Damage caused by repeated jumping, climbing into the bed, or everyday use.

Stop using the Cat Desk Bed immediately if any movement, damage, loosening, or instability is found.

Do not allow your cat to use the product again until the cause has been identified and the Cat Desk Bed can be securely and correctly installed.

Weight, Fit & Intended Use

The Cat Desk Bed is rated to support cats up to 40 lb / 18kg when correctly installed on a stable, compatible surface.

Customers should follow all product-specific guidance relating to weight, fit, surface compatibility, placement, installation, and intended use.

The Cat Desk Bed must not be:

• Loaded beyond its stated 40 lb / 18 kg limit.
• Used on an unsuitable, weakened, unstable, or incompatible surface.
• Installed on glass.
• Used if the clamp cannot attach firmly and securely.
• Modified, drilled, cut, extended, or otherwise altered.
• Installed using missing, damaged, or unverified substitute components.
• Used for purposes other than those described on the relevant product page or supplied product information.

Glass Surface Prohibition

The Cat Desk Bed must never be installed on a glass desk, glass table, glass shelf, or any other glass surface.

The clamp applies concentrated pressure to the mounting surface. On glass, this pressure may damage, crack, or shatter the surface, creating a risk of product failure, property damage, or injury.

If you are unsure whether a surface contains glass or is suitable for clamping, do not install the Cat Desk Bed until the surface has been confirmed as suitable.

Pet Supervision

Every cat behaves differently. Customers are responsible for monitoring how their cat approaches, climbs into, jumps from, rests in, and interacts with the Cat Desk Bed.

Supervise your cat during their first uses and make sure the product remains stable as they enter, settle into, and leave the bed.

Discontinue use if the product, placement, or mounting surface appears unsuitable for the cat’s size, mobility, behaviour, or activity level.

Cleaning & Maintenance

The fabric bed unzips from the frame for easy removal and is machine washable.

For everyday upkeep, a quick vacuum can help lift loose fur between washes.

Before removing, cleaning, reinstalling, or using the Cat Desk Bed again, check that all components remain undamaged, correctly positioned, and securely fitted.

Damage, Injury & Improper Use

WhiskerWay™ is not responsible for injury, loss, property damage, product failure, or other harm resulting from:

• Incorrect or incomplete installation.
• Use on an unsuitable, unstable, weakened, or incompatible surface.
• Installation on glass.
• Failure to secure the clamp correctly.
• Failure to follow supplied product safety information.
• Failure to perform regular safety checks.
• Loose, damaged, worn, or missing components.
• Product modification or unauthorised repairs.
• Exceeding the stated 18 kg / 40 lb weight limit.
• Continued use after movement, wear, damage, loosening, or instability becomes apparent.
• Installation or work performed by a customer or third party.

Damaged or Missing Components

Do not install or use a Cat Desk Bed that arrives damaged, incomplete, or with missing hardware.

Contact WhiskerWay™ before use and provide:

• Your order number.
• A description of the issue.
• Clear photographs of the product, packaging, and affected components.

Do not install a damaged product or substitute missing components with unverified hardware.

If the Product Becomes Loose or Unstable

If the Cat Desk Bed begins to move, wobble, rotate, loosen, or separate from the mounting surface, stop using it immediately.

Remove access for your cat and check:

• The clamp.
• Product hardware.
• The mounting surface.
• The product frame.
• The surrounding components.

Acceptance of Responsibility

By installing or using the WhiskerWay™ Cat Desk Bed, the customer confirms that they have:

• Checked that the chosen mounting surface is stable and compatible.
• Confirmed that the product has not been installed on glass.
• Installed and secured the Cat Desk Bed correctly.
• Checked that the Cat Desk Bed is stable before allowing their cat to use it.
• Accepted responsibility for ongoing inspection, maintenance, supervision, and safe use.
